The short answerHands-on + research

Under $500, buy a tankless seat: the Alpha UX Pearl ($459) is the best, and the Alpha JX2 ($389) is the best value. Below $350, the iX Pure ($329) is the cheapest tankless option, but with a one-year warranty. Avoid tank seats at this price unless your washes are short.

These seats replace our older under-$200, $300, $400 and $500 guides. Prices for electric seats have risen and tankless heating has come down, so $300–$500 now buys what used to cost $700.
